What the Future Holds for “Recyclable” Claims

March 5, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm ET

“Recyclable” claims and symbols are among the most impactful and widely used in consumer packaging, yet California’s SB 343 is set to drastically shift when and how companies can provide recyclability information on products and packaging. SB 343 is a first-of-its-kind labeling law that prohibits the use of the chasing arrows or any other indicator of recyclability on products and packaging unless specific criteria are met. Labeling restrictions take effect after October 4, 2026 – a date that is approaching quickly.

Hear from lawyers, recyclers, and packaging industry leaders for practical guidance on how to assess packaging for compliance, the role of tools such as the Association of Plastic Recyclers Design Guide, and strategies for effective communication of recyclability information.

Speakers:
Veronica Colas, Partner, Hogan Lovells
