Pesticide Labeling Webinar

April 7, 2027

Description: Pesticide labels are governed by a complex framework of federal statutes, regulations, and extensive EPA guidance. However, distinguishing legally binding requirements from recommendations and interpretive guidance is not always straightforward. Understanding how these sources interact is essential for developing compliant labels, navigating regulatory review, and anticipating changes that may affect product registrations.

This webinar will provide a practical overview of the pesticide labeling framework, beginning with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and the labeling requirements outlined in 40 CFR Part 156. Presenters, Michael Boucher and Lisa Amadio, will explain how these requirements are supplemented and interpreted through EPA resources, including the Label Review Manual and Pesticide Registration Notices (PR Notices), and clarify the role each plays in labeling decisions.

Building on this foundation, the webinar will explore emerging regulatory and procedural developments that pesticide registrants should be monitoring. Topics will include changes to label notification procedures, evolving bilingual labeling requirements, and the EPA’s movement toward structured digital labels.

Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the current regulatory landscape, the implications of these developments for labeling practices, and how to prepare for upcoming changes. Whether responsible for pesticide registrations, label development, or regulatory compliance, participants will leave better equipped to interpret EPA labeling expectations, identify relevant regulatory resources, and navigate an evolving pesticide labeling environment.
