Microbiological Quality of Finished Products

Microbiological quality is necessary to ensure that household and institutional products are fully functional in all labeled objectives including cleaning and soil mitigation, disinfection and esthetics of odor and color. It is also critical that no household or institutional product include microbiological contamination potentially hazardous to users or materials to be treated per label instructions. Appropriate preservation levels should be selected to protect against potential product spoilage and/or biodegradation and integrity over course of the product’s use life. Manufacturers should evaluate the microbiological quality of their products and establish appropriate, rational and actionable limits based on the best technical considerations and in context of finished product uses and label directions.
